Last Weekend Recap - Last Friday night Samael7 and I got together and were supposed to try out the newest restaurant in the Castro, Lime. Well, when we showed up sans reservations, we were greeted by hordes of people ahead of us, having the same intentions. I’ll check it out in a few weeks after the frenzy subsides. It wasn’t too hard to figure where to go instead, for what is now becoming a regular dining choice - Tallulah!
Saturday I hung around my apartment, patiently waiting for my violin to arrive via FedEx. It showed up around 5:30 and it is a beauty! Late that night, Samael7 and I ventured to the Bridge Theatre on Geary to watch local campy drag queens perform their version of “The Bad Seed” before we watched the original black and white version. I’ve seen it a couple times before, but it was fun to see again, plus the whole audience had the same notion to run across the street to the liquor store and bring in their hootch for the performance and movie – aaahh, only in SF.
Sunday, I had full intention to go to Dore Alley this year. As I was heading back into the Castro in the afternoon, I was witness to throngs of people crowding the underground and memories of claustrophobia of past Folsom events filled my head. Either I have to enjoy these events early or pass them up completely.
The workweek has been fairly pleasant and quick and is almost over – yay! Samael7 is off to Boston for a few days, and I’m off to the Russian River this weekend with some longtime pals.

Hey Richie - who are you going up to RR with? I know some folks going up there this weekend - is it a big boys weekend or are you possibly going to hook up with some people I might know?
Well, believe it or not, this Richie Rich is going with Rick D., Rick. C, Rich M. and a Mark. I don't know of any boy events happening up there this weekend, but I've concurred a few other friends will be up there, too. For the past several years, we've resorted exclusively at the Triple R, with the obligatory jaunt to Fife's.
