  • My Own Personal Pride Weekend

Well, there was much buzz in the air here in the Castro with all the visitors and locals converging into the city.  Samael7 and I hooked up after work Friday and dined early at Chez Spencer.  What a fabulous French restaurant tucked away in the Mission, I'll definitely return there and recommend to friends.  As we were walking distance to South of Market, we decided to take a seedy change of venue and headed over to Hole in the Wall, amongst a couple other pubs.

Saturday morning we headed over to Ti Couz for some sweet and savory crepes (yum!), in the evening we definitely decided to avoid all the hoo-haa of Pink Saturday and headed over Jenn's place for game night and Indian food.  I was pleased to meet Dobson, Jenn's new kitten - what a rambunctious fellow.  Heading back into the Castro after midnight, hundreds of people spilled onto Church Street - until 3:30 AM!  It was definitely a noisy night.

Sunday, Samael7 and I started off the morning early, the sun out and shining, and we had full intentions to get out and join the festivities.  As we started to watch the televised coverage of the parade, mimosas were definitely in order.  Ok, so we didn't get to the parade or Civic Center, we did head out for a bit to the Pilsner for a little celebrating.

In the end, it was a great pride weekend!

  • thanks again for coming over - you're a sweetheart and I hope Samael7 keeps you (or you keep him, either is fine with me).

Too bad I couldn't go down to the Castro/Market street festivities - but next year I will! For sure!
