  • Whew! -  What a long and busy work week...oh well, TGIF!!  Here are the latest pics of Chase (taken last weekend).  He is 12 weeks now and his legs are all stretching out and his butt is getting big.  Funniest thing is his head looks the same size as we got him!! Woof!

Pic of the day! Chase loves to run around, behind and under all the plant containers on the deck.  He absolutely loves the laser pen, and it's a good way for him to learn his manuevers.  I forget how fast Shelties can run so when he is ready to socialize with other dogs (after his vaccinations, about couple more months) I'll have to take him to the enclosed dog parks until I know he wouldn't bolt down the street!

  • Chase in the Kitchen

What?  Don't look at me - I didn't do it! - Actually, Chase did do it.  He made us fall in love with him.  He's really happy and has adapted effortlessly at home. The birds are not so freaked out now although I'm sure he really would love to play with them (good luck with that!). We took him to the vet yesterday for his first in a series of four appointments for his vaccinations etc. and got a clean bill of health.  He's much more adventurous than Rex, whereas Rex was really gentle.  We took him over to a friend's house yesterday and we placed a plastic bowl for water for him.  It immediately became a splashy toy for him.  Go figure - we have a water dog.  I went online this morning to get him a cheap pool from Target for some future sunny day on the deck.  Gotta keep him entertained until we can take him to the park to play with the other dogs (in four months).

  • Chase at Work

Welcome Home Chase!! - Hal and I drove down to Milpitas and met up with the sheltie breeder on Saturday and we didn't get back to the city until 9:00 or so.  Of course we were up late as Chase was making his rounds at home.  Of course the birds freaked out and it's going to take some time before they adapt to this scampering puppy.  More later!!

Puppy Update! - Meet Chase! He will be coming home on the 31st.  Coincidentally, the breeder is passing through (on her way to a competition in Oregon) so nix on the 4 hour drive (and back!)  This Saturday, Hal and I are planning to run around and get some puppy supplies (crate, food, squeaky things, etc.) and will be rummaging through some of Rex' old stuff to keep and use.  This is certainly a happy time for us.

  • Puppy Time!! - Ok so long story short, my beloved sheltie Rex died last June at the ripe old age of 15 1/2.  Hal and I decided then to wait until Spring of this year to get another sheltie and low and behold I found a sheltie breeder in the Bakersfield area (about 4 hours away). It was kismet that the breeder was expecting a litter and low and behold - the 3 1/2 week old puppies!!

One of these boy puppies is coming home when they are weaned around the first week of April.  We love the puppy in the middle but they are all adorable - check out the girl puppies!

Our puppy's name is gonna be Chase and it's been hard to resist stopping by the pet store in anticipation of having a puppy again (think $$).  Our cockatiels Gigi and Cockles are gonna freak out, I'm sure since we've lavished so much attention on them in the past several months, but shelties are quite gentle and they'll get along in no time.

  • Hello Xanga - I now it's been awhile but I still visit you often. Life is going pretty well since I last posted. I just saw this latest video of Scissor Sisters and just had to share!  Love me some Scissor Sisters! Mwah!

  • Today's Heat Map - These are the times I enjoy living in San Francisco.  This summer has been fantastic. I do feel sorry for the people and animals suffering in the stifling heat elsewhere.
